Is my lease still producing?

Pick the county, then type what you have: a lease name, an RRC lease or gas well number, the operator, an API number, a survey name or an abstract number such as A-749.

How to read the answer

Lease or gas well. Texas operators report oil by lease and gas well by well. Oil wells are grouped under their lease number. Gas wells are grouped by lease or unit name and operator, with each well's own RRC number in the well table. Water supply, injection and disposal wells are listed but do not set the month.

Last month with reported production. The newest month in our well records for any well in the group. The volumes are what those wells reported that month: gas in thousand cubic feet (mcf), oil and condensate in barrels.

Railroad Commission map today. The symbol the Commission's public map shows for each well, read on October 7, 2026. It is a separate source; when it shows every well plugged but our copy shows production in the last year, the answer says the sources differ.

Older lease-level copy. A second copy with production through April 2026, saved June 30, 2026. Where it shows a later month than the wells, or a month more than a few months earlier, the answer says the sources differ and by how much.

What "held by production" depends on

Many leases stay in force after their first term for as long as oil or gas is produced from the lease, or from a pooled unit that includes it. Whether your lease is still held depends on its own wording, such as cessation, shut-in and Pugh clauses and any pooling, and on whether production is in paying quantities. These records do not show any of that, and they do not show month by month gaps in production.

The Railroad Commission keeps the official monthly record (research and statistics). If an answer here matters to a decision, confirm it there or ask Landman Help to read it with you.

Counties in this tool

A county is offered only when our well records hold at least 95 percent of the wells the Railroad Commission map shows as producing there. Well records updated through September 30, 2026; newest production month July 2026.

Want help reading it?

Landman Help works for owners: it reads the record with you, explains what it means for your lease, deed or check, and tells you what to ask the operator or payor.

Only if you want to sell

If you are thinking about selling, Mineral Land is where to ask for an offer. It is Our Landmen LLC buying for its own account: the buyer across the table, not your representative. Nothing here sends your search there, and asking for help reading a record is not a request to sell.
